What great longevity guideines. I totally agree with Dan Buettner when he says “A long healthy life is no accident. It begins with good genes, but it also depends on good habits. If you adopt the right lifestyle, experts say, chances are you may live up to a decade longer,”
Great article! Did u watch “Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones” documentary on Netflix? Fascinating! I lived in Okinawa for two years so maybe it’ll rub off on me and I’ll live to 100! 🙏
Love the family history. Dan Beuttner is doing great work. I’ve read his books and watched the documentary with my family. It’s very educational. Now where can we purchase that Cannonau wine?
Yeah, it's definitely a great documentary to watch with your family! In the U.S., it looks like Total Wine carries Cannonau wine. I haven't tried it yet. 😀
That is my goal...100. I love learning more tools and resources to extend not only my life but the quality of it. I introduced yoga, meditation and breathing techniques into my life 25 years ago, and it continues to be the place I start each day.
That’s great. One thing I learned early in this research and has become my guiding principle is: focus on building healthy habits to avoid the age related diseases that kills most of us in our 70s and 80s. If you are able to do that, you have a better chance of living with fewer problems in your nineties and perhaps become a more active centenarian.
Great post, Kevin! Check out my friend Kate who lives in Sardinia and often talks about the blue zone. She produces our very favorite olive oil there! Her Substack is Olive Oil Mommy

His research is quite inspiring!
Loved this. When I did my DNA discovered I had some ‘roots’ in Sardinia. Hopefully the genes will follow!
PS -restacked!

Yep! I saw it. Wow. You lived in Okinawa? That’s fascinating!
Thanks for the recommendation. My son and I are obsessed with improving our diet and lifestyle.
Glad you found it useful!
