Gemello's gallon jugs of Zinfandel (re-bottled at home into 5ths) were $5 in the early '70's. My uncle (John Galli) was winemaker at Gemello's for a time. Playing pool at El Camino Bowl (in Gemello's front yard), followed by a visit to the winery retail room are very pleasant memories of a different era.

In about 1970 I had an English teacher named Linda Gemello. Her and her husband took a group of high school students to Perugia, Italy to attend summer school. Mrs. Gemello was pregnant. Later on my mother lived on Solana Drive in Mountain View and sometimes she would buy wine from Gemello Winery which was in an orchard behind the bowling ally. Now there is a park there named in honor of the Gemellos.
